Safeguarding
We take our safeguarding responsibilities extremely seriously. Safeguarding is about doing everything we can to make sure all our students and staff are kept safe and protected from harm. The government provides statutory guidance to colleges on what they need to do to achieve this. We adhere to all guidance and pride ourselves on going above and beyond to make Post 16 a safe, happy and thriving environment for all.

Outwood Academy Post 16 has a committed team who are trained as Advanced Designated Safeguarding leads or ‘DSL’ and oversee all aspects of safeguarding within the academy. Each of the DSL team also takes responsibility for leading on emerging local and national issues and ensures our curriculum, enrichment and assembly programme promotes proactive safeguarding to all students.
Counselling
CASY is an organisation that provides a confidential counselling service to young people aged from 6 to 25. Counselling offers a confidential space to talk in privacy about anything that is bothering you.
CASY councillors are in the centre 4 days per week. These sessions are operated on an appointment basis and managed by the learning managers. Any students requiring an appointment should speak to their learning manager.
